Water resistance depends not on case thickness, but on every seal being intact.
Gaskets fail with age, detergents and temperature change. A watch rated to 100 m can still let in water during hand-washing if its seals have perished. We test to standard procedures on professional equipment.

We use non-destructive air-pressure testing as standard, and only proceed further once the seals are confirmed sound — so the watch is never put at risk.
Once a year is typical; every six months if the watch is frequently in water or exposed to heat.
